Sims can die in the game for various reasons such as exhaustion or extreme emotions. Fortunately, there is a book which can be used to resurrect them back to life.

Causes Of Death Among Sims

SimsVIP claims that there are seven different ways for a Sim to die on "The Sims 4" and unlike with previous game titles, Sims can now die with extreme emotional state or simply being exhausted. Listed below are the causes of death among Sims as of the date:

1. Starvation - This occurs when the 'Ravenous' moodlet expires which is past the normal hungry state.

2. Fire - Like with previous game titles, Sims can die from being burned alive. At any point a Sim catches on fire and failed to be extinguished will die.

3. Old Age - All Sims reaching the end of the Elder life state will die.

4. Emotion - Unique addition on "The Sims 4" which can cause any Sim to die. Extreme emotions such as 'Laughter' in hysterical, 'Embarrassment' through mortified state and 'Anger' up to the point of enraged will kill a Sim.

5. Electrocution - Similar with "The Sims 3," fixing an electronic object can electrocute a Sim which gives a small chance of getting killed.

6. Exhaustion - Extreme tiredness on a Sim will give the "Dangerously Tired" moodlet and if left unchecked can cause the Sim to die.

7. Cowplant - The Sim-killing Laganaphyllis Simnovorii or Cowplan returns which can devour any Sim. Cowplants that are not fed within a specific period of time will lure Sims to grace a slice of cake and any Sim grabbing the sweet will be eaten.

How To Resurrect Any Sim Character

A special book is available to bring the Sim back to life. According to SimsWikia, it is called the 'Book of Life' which can be written by any player-controlled Sims. The book works similarly with the 'Voodoo Doll' that can be used on a Sim as well. However, certain conditions must be met first to use the book for resurrection purposes.

1. Master level on the Writing skill.

2. Completion of the 'Bestselling Author' aspiration.

3. Use the book to 'Capture Epic Saga' of a Sim who has not died yet.

4. After the targeted Sim dies, the writer can use the book to 'summon' the dead Sim.
