“The Sims 4” is set to receive two expansion packs, which will be released this August and November. The expansion packs will allow players to explore their kitchen skills and help them develop deeper bonds through the revamped friendship system.

“Cool Kitchen Stuff,” the developer Electronic Arts, or EA’s, August expansion, will expand the kitchen with more foodie-friendly features, including more recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. New appliances and a very special ice cream maker are also coming in the expansion. The ice cream maker can produce a variety of flavors for Sims, with some even giving Sims a special ability, which EA has yet to unveil.

“The Sims 4” “Cool Kitchen Stuff” expansion will roll out on August 11, but days prior to the release, EA will also unveil a free update that will give players access to a dishwasher in-game.

After the August expansion pack, EA will then release the “Get Together” expansion in November. This addition will give players more options to interact with in-game friends. The trailer on the Kotaku website gives players a glimpse of the next expansion.

According to EA, the expansion pack provides players a new way of establishing friendship with other Sims through different clubs. Upon playing the expansion pack, the user will have some readily available clubs. Each club has its own interest, personalities and styles that could fit players’ preferences.

Aside from the preset clubs, players are also allowed to create clubs of their own. When creating clubs, players have the freedom to choose how the club works through a couple of options, one of which is the preferred hang-out for the group.

Aside from the new club system, the "Get Together" expansion makes the Sim’s in-game friends act and behave like the real friends of the players. Sims can now interact more with their in-game friends in a variety of ways including clubbing, shopping and playing games.

Also, Sims are now able to level up their dancing and DJ’ing skills. Having higher levels in these two fields can make parties even livelier for other Sims.

Along with these new features, there’s also a new setting called Winderburg that will come with the "Get Together" expansion. This setting gives structures and buildings in the game a classic European-inspired look.
