EA and Maxis have finally released a new patch which features swimming pools absent on the base game of "The Sims 4." Find out the new features on how to build pools, what kind of pools can be built and a new death type for this amenity.

November Free Patch Brings Swimming Pools With New Features And Death Type

Swimming pools are now available on the latest patch for "The Sims 4" released by EA and Maxis. Press release from Maxis revealed that swimming pools for the fourth game instalment use the latest technology when constructing the amenity on a player-controlled lot - faster and easier building. Here are the features related to swimming pools on "The Sims 4."

1. Diagonal pool building is supported.

2. Placing of windows on the walls of pools is supported to create an infinity-pool aquatic escape and visual drama for the game.

3. Swimming pool depth can be adjusted by changing the wall heights.

4. Swimming pool can also be construction on the rooftop aside from ground level and second floor placing.

5. Swimwear outfit category returns to the game.

6. Several social interactions are added such as sitting along the pool ledge, chatting with other Sims in the pool or snuggling close to a loved one.

7. Players should beware splashing from other Sims in the pool and angry Sims trying to cool down swimming around.

8. Death by drowning also returns to the game which will also result to new ghost state.

Official Patch Notes For Version 1.2.16.10 Released In Nov. 4, 2014

Change logs from the official patch notes of version 1.2.16.10 include several changes on Sims outfit, Build Mode, performance and tuning. Swimwear outfit category for Sims supports Styled Looks and features two-piece bikini, swimming trunks and budgie smugglers. Hats, sandals and sunscreen are also included to further style-up Sims.

Build Mode support for swimming pools include four pre-fashioned designs - triangle, square, diagonal and octagon - with an option for players to draw freehand pool design. Pools can be constructed on any floor of the lot or at any venue with customisation tools such as adding pool lights, pool ladder and other decorations.

Crash fixes addressed performance issues across the game including loading problems after updating the game version and other game crashes due to several conditions. Fine tuning or graphics-related fixes include refusing Sims on cleaning up books if the action was initiated through the bookshelf and issue that could occur during the swapping of the Urn and Tombstone models, resulting loss of all functionality.
