Smartphones battle is really on! October is the month to celebrate the inception of new and high end smartphones in the market as the three of the top mobile phone producers recently released their new handsets that will revolutionized people's business and communication.

The current lineup of main competitors in this battle royale includes Apple's iPhone 4S, Motorola's Droid RAZR and the Samsung-Google Nexus Prime.

Screen Display

One of the selling points of smartphones is the screen display or how large the screen of the handset. The Nexus Prime will have the biggest screen size as it will have 4.65-inch screen display and iPhone 4S and Droid RAZR will have 3.5-inch and 4.3-inch screens, respectively. All of the three phones has 780x1080 pixels resolution.

Slim Design

All of the smartphones boast their slim design. The iPhone 4S is measured 9.3 mm. The Nexus Prime measures 8.84 mm and the Droid RAZR is 7.1 mm. The Droid RAZR, aside from being the thinnest, is also the lightest among the three weighing only 127 grams.

Processor and Memory

The three smartphones run on the latest dual core processors. Specifically, android phones run on 1.2 GHz dual core processor against iPhone 4S' 1GHz dual core. The Android phones also have 1GB RAM compared to the 512 MB of iPhone 4S. The three phones come with 16GB built-in memory. The Nexus Prime is also available in 32GB handset. iPhone 4S is available in 32GB and 64GB versions. However, Droid RAZR comes with microSD slot up to 16GB. Thus, total storage of RAZR is 32GB.

Multimedia

The multimedia aspects of the smartphones will never be missed. Both RAZR and iPhone 4S have 8-megapixel cameras. However, Samsung equipped the newest Google phone with a 5-megapixel shooter causing it to trail behind in this aspect. All three phones can record video up to 1080p and have video chat.

Operating System

One of the selling points of smartphones is how efficient is their mobile operating system. Apple equipped their new handset with the new iOS 5, which has more than 200 new features. Samsung-Google, on the other hand, equipped the Nexus Prime with the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The Motorola RAZR is also equipped with an Android OS.

Special Features

Each phone has unique features like the Nexus Prime's Near Field Communication, which allows users to make wireless payments as well as to beam contacts, websites and apps by simply bumping the two phones. The iPhone 4S, on the other hand, has its own Siri feature, which allows users to make spoken commands that the device will perform.

Although people in Australia seem to be iPhone lovers, there is a great possibility that other smartphones will fare well in the battle since Google succeeded in serving smartphone platform. Moreover, Motorola is another brand that attained glory with its previous handsets.

The smartphones battle will still be on as we expect more handsets to come in the following months. Currently, Apple's iPhone 4S is on the head of the race as they sold more than four million units in the first three days of the iPhone's release. However, these figures could be changed as the two new handsets will incept the market in a matter of days.
