NDTV Gadgets reports that Finnish mobile gaming company Rovio announced on Saturday the upcoming release of Angry Birds Stella: Best Friends Forever.
The soft launch would initially be held in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. It would introduce six new bird led by Stella, a pink bird described by Rovio as a fierce and feisty but cute avian.
Rovio has produced seven Angry Birds games that pit the winged creatures against pigs and two other games with different gameplay options. In 2016, Rovio will release the Angry Birds Movie which would come along with merchandise.
In December 2013, Rovio rolled out Angry Birds Go!, that featured a go-karting theme. Reports said that the game got a lukewarm response at its launch due to costly in-app game purchase with price tags of up to $100.

However, Rovio's Peter Vesterbacka pointed out that criticisms of the game came mostly from media, while fans loved it and gave Angry Birds Go! 4.5- and 4-star ratings at Apple's App Store and Android's Google Play store.
Mr Vesterbacka clarified that Angry Birds Stella is "not Angry Birds for girls." However, he pointed out that "if you look at how boys and girls play, there's a lot more social gameplay in how girls play together. So one theme is that there are differences in how boys and girls play, and that's just how it is."
