‘Sons of Anarchy’: Charlie Hunnam Confession On How He Almost Got A Jax Teller’s Tattoo
“Sons of Anarchy” star Charlie Hunnam wrapped up his role as Jax Teller in December, but that doesn’t mean that it’s the end for the FX biker drama series. Released on Tuesday, Feb. 24, the “Sons of Anarchy” Season 7 DVD and Blu-Ray collector’s edition features the British actor as he revealed that he almost got one of Jax Teller’s tattoos.
The actor revealed that he wanted to have a John Teller memorial tattoo for Jax, even though fans of the show never get the chance to meet him. A huge part of the show, John Teller is what inspired Jax to stir the club away from its illegal activities and his presence can be felt anywhere in the show.
The inspiration to get the tattoo and its design was through a chance encounter with a biker, a “famous” biker, Hunnam revealed. So he asked him to design a tattoo for him and he came up with memorial around the tombstone and added the line, “In Memory of Fallen Brothers,” with John Teller’s on it.
“At the early part of the show, I actually thought maybe I would have it tattooed on me,” the 34-year-old “Crimson Peak” star said. “Thankfully my girlfriend convinced me that that would not be a good idea. I love the image of it and would happily have it on my arm, but it’s just a pain in the ass getting tattoos covered for work.”
Meanwhile, fans of the show can still follow Charlie Hunnam in his new role as the young Arthur Pendragon in Guy Ritchie's "Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur." The blond-haired hunk is set to star alongside "Hulk" star Eric Bana as Arthur's father, Uther Pendragon, and Astrid Bergis-Frisbey as Guinevere.
"Sons of Anarchy’s" seventh season DVD/Blu-ray and the limited edition complete box set is now available. The collector’s edition set also features the show’s deleted scenes, a gag reel, “Carpe Diem: The Final Season of Sons of Anarchy,” “Anarchy Legacy,” “Bikes of Sons of Anarchy: Motorcycles of Mayhem,” “SOA Tattoo Stories,” and “Guest of Anarchy.”
