‘Sons of Anarchy’ Creator Kurt Sutter Quotes Jax Teller, Ryan Hurst Joins New Series ‘Outsiders’
Known for his role as SAMCRO’s Opie Winston in “Sons of Anarchy,” Ryan Hurst landed a new gig in television as the newest member of WGN’s new series, “Outsiders.” Currently playing a recurring role in “Bates Motel,” the actor is now a series regular of the show that tells the story about the “struggle for power and control” in the Appalachian hills.
“It tells the story of the Farrell clan, a family of outsiders who’ll protect their world and defend their way of life using any means necessary,” according to Deadline. “Hurst, repped by Domain and Piper Kaniecki Management, will play Lil Foster, the son of Big Foster and brother of Hasil.”
The new show will be filmed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania which features a family living off the grid and “above the law” on their home above the mountains. The 38-year-old actor is set to play alongside Christina Jackson (“Boardwalk Empire”) who recently joined the “Outsiders” ensemble cast.
Produced by Peter Tolan (“Rescue Me”) and Hollywood actor Paul Giamatti (“Cinderella Man” and “John Adam”), “Outsiders” is from the playwright of Peter Mattei from Sony Pictures TV and Tribune Studious. Other actors in the show include Thomas M. Wright (“The Bridge”), David Morse (“Treme”), Joe Anderson (‘Hannibal”) and Kyle Gallner (“Veronica Mars”).
Meanwhile, “Sons of Anarchy” series creator Kurt Sutter recently quoted one of John Teller’s famous quotes on his Twitter account. With a hashtag Teller Tuesday (#TellerTuesday), the quote tells about Teller’s reflection on the life he is leading written on his personal journal, “The Life and Death of Sam Crow: How the Sons of Anarchy Lost Their Way.”
Currently working on his new TV series, “The Bastard Executioner,” Sutter recently announced that the show will start filming in March in Wales, UK. Together with executive producer Paris Barclay, Sutter is currently scouting for casts on his new project set in the 14th century about a knight under King Edward III’s charge.
The tattooed showrunner is set to reunite with his wife Katey Sagal, known for her role as Gemma Teller, in the FX period drama. Sagal announced her involvement to the show before SOA wrapped in December.
