In 2013, Sony ventured into offering water-resistant smartphones and tablets like the Xperia Z and the Xperia Tablet Z. In this year too, the Japanese tech giant has launched couple of new devices such as the Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. All of these mobile devices come with the highest waterproof certification, states PhoneArena.

Sony is prepping to start an underwater shop for purchasing the water-resistant Xperia mobile devices. Yes, we are talking about a real underwater store that is being built in Dubai, UAE. The store is called Xperia Aquatech Store, states Arabian Gazette and The National.

The Xperia Aquatech Store will officially open on December 3. The store is located four meters underneath the surface of the sea. On the first day, only selected customers will be allowed to visit the store. Also, the members of the press will also be allowed to view Sony products.

PhoneArena states that there are professional divers who will escort the guests to the Xperia Aquatech Store. It further states that inside the store, customers will be able to stand on the seabed and roam around the store to checkout the products by breathing normally.

According to The National, by building an underwater store, Sony which has forecasted losses of ¥230 billion for the year is trying its best to impress the investors. Hence, it is now primarily concentrating on manufacturing premium smartphones and tablets to avoid further losses.

The Arabian Gazette states that Sony will be organizing a contest before inaugurating the Xperia Aquatech Store. Winners of the contests will be giving once-in-a-lifetime experience of visiting the intriguing underwater shop.

Last September 3, Sony had revealed three new water-resistant mobile devices to the world namely, the Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. All of these products are in the process of being made available for purchase across the globe. These devices also belong to the first batch of devices that are poised to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.
