Sony shares what’s new on Android 6.0 Marshmallow update with new video: Camera, messaging and security improvements
Improved security and camera and messaging apps -- these are the big winners for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Sony Xperia Z5 series of handsets, according to a new company video detailing what's new about the latest version of the Android operating system.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow had launched its global roll out on Monday, March 7, and now users know what to expect from the update. The video posted on the official Sony YouTube channel describes the change log of the Marshmallow update in greater details, including the incorporation of new features from Google along with Sony’s own improvements.
While the update isn't bringing much UI changes, it offers quite of lot of new features in terms of the camera and messaging apps, and on the security front.
According to the video, the Marshmallow update will bring in enhanced privacy settings that enable users to grant permission for confidential personal details while accessing applications.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will also enable users to better control their Camera app. With the new version of the Android OS, Sony says users can seamlessly navigate between camera and shooting modes and adjust the screen brightness in real time while taking a shot.
With the new software update, sharing content and editing text will be easier than ever. Sony will also bring in a new set of exclusive stickers to the Messaging app.
According to the Xperia Blog, the Marshmallow over-the-air (OTA) update with build number 32.1.A.1.163 has been rolled out to both Wi-Fi and LTE versions of Xperia Z4 Tablet as well as single-SIM based Xperia Z3+. The latest version of Android OS will soon hit the dual SIM model of Xperia Z3+. Sony has already released the new Android operating system to Xperia Z4 and Z3+ series of devices.
