Sony's new device VAIO Duo 11 was the star of the first day of this year's IFA event in Berlin.

Photos and news about the device leaked and it is quite impressive as a tablet/laptop hybrid device. The Sony VAIO Duo 11 has a sliding keyboard. Unfortunately, the tech company chose to keep the primary details about the gadget to itself.

This device will surely give other tablets serious competition like the recently released Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. Below is a comparison of the two devices.

Sony VAIO Duo 11

The new device from Sony has Intel Core series of processors with the Core i7-3517U as the range topper. RAM strength will be either 4 or 8 GB while internal memory options comprise of 128 or 256 GB of SSD storage. It is speculated that this device will be equipped with Windows 8 operating system.

Other features the tablet offers include two USB 3.0 ports, VGA out, HDMI out and a memory card slot. Connectivity options with the Duo 11 include WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and LAN. An 11.6-inch 1080p capacitive display makes up the front while there also are HD cameras built into the front and rear of the device.

It also apparently has a professional looking stylus for writing and creating content.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

The new Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet computer has a 10.1 inch screen, double the size of its predecessor. It also includes a new multiscreen feature that allows two different applications to run simultaneously side by side.

The tablet has the same starting price as the iPad 3. However, the 3G version of the Note also adds voice calling functionality, something which could appeal to business users. One of the prime features of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is its multitasking feature. This feature allows you can run two or more apps at the same time.

Samsung packed a lot in the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. First, the device has Anroid 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as its software but we can expect a Jelly Bean update in the future. The Note 10.1 also has Samsung's TouchWiz, Polaris Office and Adobe Photoshop. All of this allows you to do a lot of things in the tablet without the need to download the apps.

One of the features that set Galaxy Note 10.1 apart from other tablet is the S-Pen. With the stylus, it is easier to navigate and take down notes with the gadget.

Based on the aforementioned features, we suggest that you choose Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 while Sony preps up its device for an official launch.
