Details on the Sony Xperia i1 smart phone with the codename "Honami" were leaked online along with a blurry image through "svartling.net" that shows the Japanese company's upcoming product. Additionally, the water- and dust-resistant smart phone is reportedly scheduled for a July 2013 launch.

In France, a number of web sites have already reported about an invitation to the Sony Xperia Honami launch scheduled to take place at a prestigious press event on July 9. Though the invite did not exactly mention what device will be announced, speculations were quick to suggest that it could be the Honami.

Sony Xperia i1 "Honami" will reportedly have a 5-inch Triluminos touch screen display with Full HD 1920x1080p resolution, the OptiContrast and X-Reality Engine technology which is the successor of the Sony Mobile Bravia Engine 2. A 2.3GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor will power up the upcoming Sony smart phone as well as the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update, 2GB of RAM, Adreno 330 Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) and 32GB internal storage capacity with a microSD card slot for memory expansion to 64GB.

The smart phone's rear camera is listed with either a 20MP or 16MP Cyber-shot CMOS camera while the front-facing camera is a 2.2MP 1080p Exmor R sensor. The features include Xenon and dual-LED flash with the Mobile BIONZ image processing.

Other features are the NFC, Wi-Fi, Miracast, Infrared blaster, Bluetooth and 4G LTE support with the S-Master MX Mobile Audio Amplifier, dual stereo speakers and a 3000mAh battery that features an enhanced stamina mode for conservation.

Honami's body casing is a combination of metal, carbon fibre and a shatter proof glass with the IP55 and IP58 certification for dust, water and impact resistance. However, Sony remains tight-lipped and does not release any statement to confirm or deny the circulating reports on what to look forward to with the Sony Xperia Honami.
