Sony Xperia- Inspired Samsung Galaxy S5 Release Date on MWC 2014?
Samsung Galaxy S5 release date may happen on Mobile World Congress 2014 and will show off indestructible built.
Samsung Galaxy S5 may appear in the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Feb. 24 to 27. However, Samsung may also hold a separate event before the tech convention just like the releases of previous Samsung Galaxy handsets.
There are speculations that Samsung will provide a high-end Galaxy smartphone with an all-metal unibody, similar to the sleek HTC One. This high-end series of smartphones is set to be the Galaxy F line, which will be both dust-proof and water-proof thanks to its all-metal casing.
Furthermore, the screen may be protected by the next generation of Corning Gorilla Glass. This is counter the recent rumours that the next iPhone will include Sapphire Glass. Apple recently closed a $578m deal to open a plant in Arizona with GT Advanced Technologies. The latter will be in charge with the inclusion of the rumoured Sapphire glass on the iPhone 6.
The recently held second annual Analyst Day provided some hints on the future specs and features of its upcoming devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S5.
One of the confirmed features of Samsung Galaxy S5 and Note 4 is a 16MP ISOCELL camera sensor that will improve the picture quality by physically isolating individual pixels. Another feature that consumers will most likely see in Samsung Galaxy S5 is flexible screen or round display. Previous reports claimed that Korean tech companies LG and Samsung were working on bendable screen displays.
Samsung also hinted that upcoming Samsung smartphones will pack screens with 2,560 x 1,440 WQHD and 560 ppi resolution. Samsung announced that it is working on bringing Ultra High Definition 4K smartphones as early as 2015. Thus, 2560 x 1440 WQHD panels added to its handsets coming next year. Lastly, Samsung already announced that it will bring processors with 64-bit architecture in upcoming devices. The company revealed its plans to be the first to release a 64-bit chip using optimized IP cores. Samsung also planned to beat GlobalFoundries and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Comp., Ltd. The latter is Apple's partner in making the 64-bit A7 processors for the recently released iPhone 5S.
