Sony Xperia S Androidv4.1 Jelly Bean Update Leaked Before Release Date
The Sony Xperia S Jelly Bean update is really happening as a photo of the Androidv4.1 firmware leaked ahead its release.
Last week, Sony finally announced some official details regarding the Sony Xperia S Jelly Bean update, an update that owners have been looking forward to for quite some time. Sony has yet to announce a specific release date for the software but it's clear that it's working hard to meet its late May release date as a new software leak has surfaced, giving Sony Xperia S owners a look at the upcoming Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for their devices.
This is not the first leak of the firmware update. The recent leak originated from DooMLoRD from XDA-Developers forums, courtesy of Xperia Blog. It shows that it is close to the final version as the software is going to get. The new build is 6.2.B.0.197, and it's for developer versions of the device.
However, it appears that the software has been made available for consumers and that the software is extremely stable and fully working, meaning the Sony engineers working on this software are extremely close to a final version, if they aren't there already. This new Jelly Bean build was evidently released only a few days ago.
Sony Xperia S is expected to receive its Jelly Bean update later this month. According to a new report, Sony Mobile's Poland division has confirmed that the much awaited update is already in its final stages and is bound for release in "a couple of days".
Instead, the manufacturer has announced that the deployment process of the new OS on these devices will start at the end of May.
Once the update will start rolling out, the more notable changes you're going to experience on your device include the addition of Google Now, new WALKMAN, Album and Movies apps, a redesigned application tray, better battery life thanks to the inclusion of Battery STAMINA mode, as well as the option to add more desktop panes on your homescreen.
Sony Xperia S was launched in February 2012 running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, got the Ice Cream Sandwich later on and was confirmed as eligible for the Jelly Bean treatment. It will probably be the last update for the smartphone. The delay angered a lot of consumers.
