Motorola released Moto G in the last quarter of 2013, while the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra got released in January 2014. Readers who are interested in purchasing one of the aforementioned devices should check out the specification and price comparison pertaining to Australia.

Display, Design and Size

The Moto G features a 4.5 inches display and it packs a resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels. The Sony Xperia T2 Ultra, on the other hand, comes with a gigantic phablet-like screen size of 6 inches, but the display resolution is same as the Moto G. The Sony Xperia T2 Ultra is capable of supporting up to 245 ppi of pixel density, which is much lower than the 329 ppi of Moto G.

The humongous screen size of Xperia Ultra T2 combined with HD Triluminos display provides wide-viewing angles. In addition, the handset displays vivid colours and razor-sharp images. Even with a relatively smaller 4.5 inches screen size, the Moto G cannot be discounted because it boasts sharp HD display that stretches from edge-to-edge to all corners of the handset. In addition, this handset comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

The thickness and the weight of Moto G are 0.46 inches and 143 g respectively, whereas the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra is 0.30 inches thick and it weighs 172 g. Even though the handset from Sony is lighter, it is heavier as well.

Hardware and Software

The Motorola Moto G is powered by a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 400) Cortex-A7 processor, clocked at 1.2 GHz and it comes with a 1 GB of RAM. Meanwhile, the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra is powered by a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8928) ARM Cortex-A7 processor, clocked at 1.4 GHz, which also features the same 1 GB of RAM. Both the phones run on Android v4.3 Jelly Bean that is upgradable to higher versions.

Camera

The Moto G sports a 5 MP rear-facing camera with LED Flash and a 1.3 MP front-facing camera. On the other hand, the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra features a whopping 13 MP rear-facing camera with LED Flash and a 1.1 MP front-facing camera unit.

Memory

The Moto G comes with 8 GB or 16 GB of internal storage with no microSD slot for expansion. Whereas the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra offers only 8 GB of internal storage; however, the handset supports microSD card for expansion up to 32 GB.

Battery

The Moto G houses a non-removable Li-Ion 2070 mAh battery unit, while the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra houses a superior Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery unit that is not user replaceable.

SIM

Both the handsets support micro-sim type. In addition, both the phones come in dual-sim variants as well.

Colour

The Moto G comes with a black front panel but the back panel is customizable with seven different colour options, whereas the Xperia T2 Ultra comes in 2 standard shades black and white.
