Sony Xperia Tablet Z: Pre-order Ready in Australia, Soon to be Released in U.S. [VIDEO]
Sony Xperia Tablet Z pre-orders in Australia can be done with a few clicks on your computer. An Aussie tech site has featured a look into the neat innards of the 2013 device, which is perhaps the thinnest full-sized 10.1-inch tablet in the world (6.9 mm). Meanwhile, in the U.S. the flagship Sony tablet is expected to hit the stores soon.
Sony Xperia Tablet Z is the first full-sized tablet to grab international attention in 2013. With a waterproof and dustproof chassis, this cutting-edge tech masterpiece is the big sibling of the mobile hit Xperia Z phone.
Here is a video clip of how Sony has bared all of the Xperia Tablet Z for tablet shoppers, as featured on Gizmodo.com.au:
MobiCity accepts Aussies' Xperia Tablet Z pre-orders. The 16GB WiFi only variant carries a $749 price tag. The 32GB WiFi variant costs $899 on the same online shopping site. This NFC-enabled tablet is fueled by a powerful 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro Quad-core processor, with 2GB of RAM. It runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.
U.S. tablet shoppers can stop worrying about importing the Tablet Z. Engadget.com has reported the Sony device has recently gone through the FCC approval process. The tablet is equipped with an 8MP rear-facing camera with shooting options courtesy of Sony technology.
In a related development, the cheaper sibling of Sony Xperia Tablet Z, the Xperia ZL, is now up for pre-orders at the Sony web store. The Xperia ZL price tag for the U.S. is at US$720 on HSPA, and US$760 on 4G. On the Aussie online store MobiCity, the ZL price tag is marked $619, but is currently out of stock. The ZL and Z have mostly similar specs, with the most notable price differentiator being the waterproof and dustproof features of the latter.
The Tablet Z sports a Full HD 10.1-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1200 x 1920 pixels. In terms of pixel density, the 9.7-inch Apple iPad 4 still wins at 224 ppi against Z' s 263 pixels per inch. But users still count on the Z for a stunning view with Sony's Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2.
