Sony Xperia Z Gets Android 4.2.2 in March; Sony Xperia Releases J 4.1.2 Update
Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean is rumoured to be released for Sony Xperia Z on late March 2013. Xperiablog.net has the leaked screenshots of the 4.2.2 version update for Xperia Z or C6603 from an anonymous tipster. Meanwhile, Xperia J goes live this time with the release of 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for the device.
Sony Xperia Z 4.2.2 update
The anonymous tipster who delivered the screenshots to xperiablog.net also sent some details about the update. The Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update will have a firmware version 11.1.A.1.450 and possibly a beta version with version number 11.1.A.X.XXX on its release. It has a new 3.6 kernel version compared to the last 3.4 kernel using the old Android 4.1.2. firmware. According to the source, the first official release will take place at the end of March in Europe.
Sony Xperia J 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Over-the-Air Update
Another Xperia device has received a Jelly Bean update with Android version 4.1.2. The new version is gradually being released to several Xperia J models around the world and the newer operating system has the build number - 11.2.A.0.21 with the features included Google Now and Project Butter.
The basics to perform the update is to browse the Settings menu then to the About Phone/Device details. Remember, your device might not yet receive an update depending on your location, just be patient. Another way is to use the companion suite of the device and plug Xperia J to the computer to determine if an update is ready for download.
