Sony Xperia Z Sold Out Before U.S. Release, Certified Mobile Hit
Sony has run out of Xperia Z mobile phones even before it could make an official U.S. release. The Japanese tech giant has sold all of its entire stock to deliver pre-orders to early shoppers in Japan, Germany, France, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, according to a report.
Sales figures for the Xperia Z have not been out, but Digitimes reported the mobile phone has sold through its pipeline inventory after pre-orders were taken for a few countries outside the U.S. Time was on Sony's side as it made headlines prior to the release of HTC One and the soon-to-be unveiled Samsung Galaxy S4.
Sony Xperia Z in Colours: What's Not to Like?
Sony Xperia Z comes in black, white, and purple to please colour-conscious users. The waterproof and dustproof chassis of the slim (7.9mm) fmobile device is one of its main attractions. But the system specs and features justify the Xperia Z price, which is comparable to other 2013 5-inch smartphone prices.
The Z mobile packs a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5 GHz processor with 2 GB of RAM. It has a 16GB storage with an option to expand to up to 32GB with a microSD card. The juice its 2,400 mAh battery provide is managed by Sony Stamina Mode. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on Sony's custom skin out of the box.
It is good that it has a power-saving mechanism, because Xperia Z sports a stunning 5-inch Full HD screen display (1920x1080 px, 443 ppi) powered by Sony Bravia Engine 2. As a PlayStation certified device, gamers and media consumers get a lot from the Xperia Z. Being a Sony device, Xperia Z users enjoy the Sony environment that in a way that other users can't - even if they want to.
The 13MP rear-facing camera with Sony tech options is also a delight for mobile photographers. The camera also features HDR video recording capability.
Sony Xperia Z Price, Review
"For Android fans, the Sony Xperia Z was one of the highlights of a fairly quiet CES (Consumer Electronics Show 2013). A 5-inch, 1080p phone with a bold new design language and fancy new camera technology, the Xperia Z was probably the most compelling phone of the show," notes Android Central in one of its reviews.
The Xperia Z price tag is marked $749 on MobiCity. The device is in stock and available for fast delivery via the Aussie online store. For the same price, the Xperia Tablet Z 16GB variant is available for pre-orders on the same shopping site.
