Sony Xperia devices are going to have new camera features according to the announcement of CyanogenMod of new builds designed for selected Xperia lines such as Xperia Z, ZL, V, T and Tablet Z.

CyanogenMod 10.1 for Xperia

"The team has been working hard to bring the newer Xperia device's cameras up to speed, and made great progress on standing up more of the advanced features," according to CyanogenMod.

The group announced a modification and enhancement of the camera found in some Xperia devices and it will be imparted on their upcoming release of CyanogenMod 10.1 for Xperia. Aside from Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS, Google Now, Project Butter, Quick Settings, Actionable Notifications and Daydream, CyanogenMod developers are evolving the stock camera from Sony. Here are some notable additional features from the upcoming CM10.1:

- High Dynamic Range or HDR for photos & videos

- Additional ISO modes

- New scene modes

- Enhanced shutter speed

- Improved Sony's image and video stabilisation

Free Xperia Project Team

The Free Xperia Project who are maintaining the CyanogenMod 10.1 firmware for Xperia devices have announced their upcoming FXP 225 ROM for the device line up which going to be released in a few days and includes the additional changelogs:

- Fix network options for Xperia Tablet Z Wi-Fi

- Fix Volume keys for recovery on Xperia ZL and Xperia Tablet Z Wi-Fi

- Mino audio fix on both Xperia Z and ZL

- Latest edition of CyanogenMod 10.1 ROM
