As usual, owners should first unlock the boot loader of Xperia Z1 Compact based on the same steps provided for Xperia Z1 smartphone. After that, you may proceed with the rooting procedure and installation of the CyanogenMod based custom recovery built from ClockworkMod 6.0.4.6 sources.

Your Xperia Z1 Compact should be running the stock ROM Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with firmware version 14.2.A.1.114 or any ROM based on the said firmware for the root access to work perfectly. Moreover, Xperia Z1 Compact root in this way do not lose its camera functionality.

Sony Xperia Z1S is now available in T-Mobile stores in the United States for all interested buyers. The smartphone is also available live at T-Mobile's official Web page for pre-orders at $528 full retail price with $0 up front cost.
