Sony Mobile is rumoured to be working already for an official firmware of Android 4.4 KitKat on Xperia, scheduled on the 7th of November while Xperia SP has been reported to receive Android 4.3 by on the same month, after the Xperia Z line gets the new software.

Sony Xperia Z1 with Android 4.4 KitKat

November 7 is the rumoured date for the Android 4.4 KitKat arrival on Sony Xperia Z1 according to reports from AndroidSaS. Xperia Z1 has been released with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean version and suppose to be receiving Android 4.3 by November 2013 based on leaked report by the French network carrier Free Mobile.

It seems like Sony Mobile plans to make Xperia Z1 exclusive to get Android 4.4 KitKat unlike with other members of the Xperia Z line. However, Google hasn't announced anything yet when will the source code be released publicly, so it is possible that Sony currently prepares everything they need to welcome 4.4 version or may have received secretly the source code and awaits official go-signal from Google.

AndroidSaS didn't reveal their source while Sony Mobile made no announcement or confirmation regarding schedules of Android 4.4 KitKat update.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean would likely be sure to arrive on Sony Xperia Z1 due to the early reports from Free Mobile. According to French network carrier, Android 4.3 is confirmed for Sony Xperia SP on December 2013 which is a hybrid member of the Xperia Z line.

If Xperia SP will get the newest update on December, it is possible that Xperia Z, ZR, ZL, Z Ultra and Z1 are scheduled on November 2013. Sony Mobile recently announced plans for selected Android 4.1 running Xperia phones to go straight with Android 4.3 instead of 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

No matter what happens with the rumoured scheduled dates, Sony Mobile will push Android 4.3 and 4.4 updates for several Xperia models and that includes Z, Z1, Z Ultra, ZR, ZL and SP.
