Apparently, the iPad Air killer is born with the Sony Xperia Z2 tablet tipped for MWC 2014 launch.

The iPad Air seems to face a tough competition with the Sony Xperia Z2 tablet, particularly, in terms of being lightweight. Currently, Sony is reported to be working on a 10.1-inch tablet, which is a follow-up to its Xperia Tablet Z. This new Sony Xperia Z2 tablet rumored to be thinner than the iPad Air with heavy-duty internals.

The specs of the Sony Xperia Z2 tablet, expected to be unveiled at the MWC 2014, were leaked by the famous leakster @evleaks. In the past, @evleaks was known to have accurate leaks and even maintained one of the best track records in this department.

Although there is no image that comes with the leak, the Sony Xperia Z2 tablet is expected to be waterproof and dustproof similar to its predecessor. It comes with a jaw-dropping 6.4 mm thin body, which is relatively smaller than the iPad Air measuring 7.5 mm thick.

The other specs and features of the Sony Xperia Z2 tablet are pretty much top-of-the-line. It is expected to sport a10.1-inch full HD 1920 x 1200 pixels WUXGA display, 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with Adreno 330 GPU, 3 GB RAM and will run the latest version of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat with a couple of customizations from Sony.

Sony is not skimming on the cameras of the tablet, but there should be an 8 MP sensor rear camera and 2 MP sensor front camera. The next- generation tablet from Sony is expected to have 16 GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot.

Also, the Sony Xperia Z2 tablet will come with a massive 6000 mAh battery, which is good enough to make the best out of its impressive hardware. Until the MWC 2014 next week, all we can do is to wait and see if the specs and features of the Sony Xperia Z2 tablet are accurate.
