Sony Xperia Z1 successor Xperia Z2 aka "Avatar" has been spotted again and currently being developed for 2014. Speculations revealed Android 4.4 KitKat OS, 5.2" IGZO display, 2.3 GHz quad-core CPU, 3 GB of RAM and possible one-hour recharging technology.

New Rumours of Sony Xperia Z2 Avatar

Sony may not be covering the vast majority of Android devices worldwide but the Japanese company gained something from their new Xperia line-up that led to the upcoming new flagship smartphone of 2014.

Xperia Z1 successor Xperia Z2 codenamed "Avatar" was spotted once again, revealing early developmental stage and some ideas of its final specifications. Gizmodo reported the possible successor Xperia model as follow-up for the increased sales ranking of Xperia Z1.

Some specifications revealed are:

- Android 4.4 KitKat OS version

- 5.2 inches of Triluminos IGZO screen display

- 1080p, 1920 x 1080 full HD display resolution

- 2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor

- 3 GB of RAM

- 20.7 MP rear camera shooter

- 4K video resolution capture

- 3200 mAh battery unit

According to their sources, Xperia Z2 has similar body size with Xperia Z1 including the button layout. The dedicated camera key is also obvious at the side part of Xperia Z2 while the external speakers are not yet definitive where it is located.

Another part of the leaked chassis image of Xperia Z2 is the upper left area where the camera lens may be installed while the flash lens may be located at the upper right which of course uncertain at this time.

Leaked images of the new Xperia chassis and terminals are not yet fully published which may confirm Xperia Z2 or not until Sony decided to say so. In addition, the chassis can still be modified since the sample is in early development.

Sony Xperia Z2 Unique but Important Feature

Another rumour floating is Sony's possible solution to the everlasting crisis of battery life and recharging time that will be carried out by the next-generation Xperia smartphone. Sony may be leading a breakthrough on the eight or longer hours of battery recharging through new wireless charging technology incorporated on new Xperia devices.

Moreover, reports from Nikkei indicated a development of one device from Sony that uses 10 to 15 watts of electricity which doubles the rate of current chargers. Using the mathematics to sum it up, Sony's new Xperia smartphones can recharge fully in just an hour.

Wireless Power Consortium was the source of obtained information which means that the new charging technology is wireless. Wireless recharging like this have controlling chipsets that regulates power while retains faster recharging without overloading handsets and avoid endangering users.
