The battery specification of the Sony Xperia Z3 is out along with freshly leaked images of the upcoming device.

Last week, we reported that the upcoming Sony Xperia Z3 will support dual-SIM and the handset has cleared FCC equivalent in China. But now, we have information on the battery unit and the internal parts of the Xperia Z3. Furthermore, the upcoming device will be launched at the IFA 2014 event scheduled for next week.

Freshly leaked images of the yet-to-be-official Xperia device show internal components in addition to confirming a 3100-mAh non-removable battery unit. Notably, the Xperia Z2 comes with a relatively better battery of 3200-mAh unit. However, there is no information available to comprehend why Sony would go for a battery reduction. Also, the handset showcased in the leak is the dual-SIM variant pertaining to China, according to Phone Arena.

Going by the leaked images, the Sony Xperia Z3 has a slimmer profile when compared to the predecessor Xperia Z2. If reports are true, the upcoming device will come with a thickness of 7 mm, whereas the Xperia Z2 is 8.2 mm thick. However, other specifications are similar to the current-generation device.

The specifications include 5.2-inch display with 1,080 x 1,920 pixels screen resolution. The device will be powered by a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 801) processor clocked at 2.5 GHz. It is worth noting that, previous rumours pointed to a superior Snapdragon 805 processor on the upcoming Xperia Z3 handset.

Moreover, the Xperia device will be backed by 3 GB of RAM. As far as the camera goes, the phone will sport the same 20.7 MP rear-facing camera unit seen in Xperia Z2 and a 2 MP front-facing shooter. Much like the predecessor, the Xperia Z3 will also come with water-resistant exterior. Surprisingly, other than the standard colours the upcoming device will also come in Amber hue.

If the reports are true, along with the Xperia Z3 handset, Sony will also be unveiling its compact sibling Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 tablet. Interestingly, Sony posted an image of the upcoming tablet in the company's official Facebook page. The image shows the upcoming Xperia Z3 tablet in the hands of a user, who is also wearing an Android-powered smartwatch on the wrist.
