Sony Xperia Z4 Release Date Update: New Renders Show No microSD Card Slot, Latest Sony IMX230 Sensor And 7.2-mm Thickness
Very recently, an alleged press render showcased the upcoming Sony Xperia Z4 flagship smartphone. But now, a slew of new renders have cropped up giving a good glimpse of the device. Plus, there’s some clarity on the key Xperia Z4 specifications as well.
The credible tipster site NWE has published several images of the Sony Xperia Z4 stating that the images are being used internally within Sony. In any case, readers should note that, the final Xperia Z4 will not vary dramatically from the internal renders, notes Phone Arena. Going by the images, the smartphone looks like a replica of the predecessor Xperia Z3. However, the changes reportedly include bigger front-facing speakers, housed in a location slightly different from the Z3, notes the same site.
Speaking of size, the Xperia Z4 apparently measures 146.3 x 71.9 x 7.2 mm, whereas the Xperia Z3 comes with a dimension of 146 x 72 x 7.3 mm. Therefore, it is evident that, not much has been changed in the overall design department. This could also mean that, the upcoming handset will apparently carry a screen size of 5.2-inch. But then, there is no clear directive to pin down the screen resolution of the Xperia Z4. Based on the rumours, the handset could either settle for the same 1,080 x 1,920 pixels or the currently trend of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels.
Meanwhile, NWE notes that, the SIM card slot is located on the left side of the device and the microSD card slot seems to be missing from the renders. But then, the same site however says that, either the internal renders have not marked the slot by mistake or the handset will indeed not support expansion.
Under the hood, the handset is believed to be powered by an octa-core, 64-bit (Qualcomm Snapdragon 810) processer. Plus, the software end will apparently be taken care by the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. When it comes to RAM configuration, rumour has it that the Xperia Z4 could be backed by either the same 3 GB or a new 4 GB unit. With respect to camera configuration, there will reportedly be a killer 20.7 MP rear-facing unit with the new Sony IMX230 sensor on board.
Lastly, the Sony Xperia Z4 release date is reportedly pegged for this summer, notes Phone Arena. Nonetheless, Sony has not confirmed the Xperia Z4 specifications thus far. Interested readers can check out the leaked Xperia Z4 renders from the Phone Arena link mentioned above.
