Sony Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Plus: 4K UHD, Snapdragon 810, Fingerprint Scanner, No USB Type-C
More reports for Sony Xperia Z5 Plus, Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact have unveiled involving the new 4K UHD display, first fingerprint scanner for Xperia devices and Snapdragon 810. Unfortunately, leaks claimed the lacking of next generation Snapdragon 820 processor and USB Type-C connectivity.
4K Ultra High Definition Display Resolution on Xperia Z5 Plus Revealed
New reports revealed that Sony could be the first Android brand manufacturer to launch a smartphone with 4K Ultra High Definition display or UHD before the end of 2015. According to XperiaBlog, Sony E68XX devices such as E6833, E6853 and E6883 are likely the phablet versions called Xperia Z5 Plus of the upcoming Xperia flagship smartphone – Xperia Z5.
User Agent Profile suggested that the handset models sported 2160 x 3840 display resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and possibility to have 801 ppi pixel density if it offers 5.5 inches of display screen or larger. At this time, Sony Mobile has only managed to produce devices with FHD or 1080p including Xperia Z3 Plus and WQXGA resolution on Xperia Z4 Tablet.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 Processor More Likely than Snapdragon 820
Sony Xperia Z5 Plus, Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact are likely to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor MSM8994 instead of the latest Snapdragon 820. User Agent Profile for the leaked Sony Xperia devices revealed the use of Snapdragon 810, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS and two display resolutions – 1080p for Sony E66xx devices and 720p for Sony E58xx which are expected to be launched at the second half of 2015. For Snapdragon 820, Qualcomm officially announced that the new chipset including the Adreno 530 GPU are set to be released around the first half of 2016.
Fingerprint Scanner for the new Sony Xperia flagship smartphone
It is confirmed that Sony Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact feature a fingerprint scanning sensor according to an image uploaded by @ViziLeaks at Twitter. Both devices have the fingerprint scanner located at the right side above the volume lockers. Other noticeable things on the leaked prototype are the lowered the volume keys which now significantly closer to the dedicated camera button and the continuation of the OmniBalance design language.
Still no USB Type-C for Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact supported by new leak
Earlier leaks noted that Sony Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact will have USB Type-C connectivity but a new leaked image of the prototypes from @ViziLeaks confirmed the lack of the mentioned technology. USB Type-C is a new technology in design and purpose which will be used soon by many devices. It features slim and sleek connector, reversible plug orientation and cable direction and supports scalable power and performance. Most USB Type-C could have USB 3.1 version that can deliver up to 10 Gbps of bandwidth than USB 3.0.
