Sony Xperia Z6 Lite with Snapdragon 650 SoC will be launched next year
Earlier this month, there were rumours that the Sony Xperia Z6 will be launched in five different variants covering a wide range of display sizes. Now there are speculations that the device may come in another variant dubbed the Xperia Z6 Lite.
According to Mobile Dad, the Xperia Z6 Lite will sport a 5-inch display and will be powered by Snapdragon 650 processor. The handset will feature a 2.5D curved glass and metal back cover design. The Xperia Z6 Lite will allegedly hit the shelves in May 2016 along with its other variants.
The handset will be positioned in the market between Xperia Z6 and Xperia Z6 Compact. The smartphone may come with a tentative price tag of US$385 (AU$528).
Previous leaks indicated that the Xperia Z6 will come in five different models, including Xperia Z6 Mini with 4-inch display , a 4.6-inch Xperia Z6 Compact, Xperia Z6 featuring a 5.2-inch display, Xperia Z6 Plus with 5.8-inch display and Xperia Z6 Ultra sporting a 6.4-inch screen. However, earlier this month, a leaked roadmap of T-Mobile Poland listed four models, eliminating the Xperia Z6 Mini, reports NDTV Gadgets.
Previous reports in GSM Arena also suggested that Sony will incorporate a metallic design to revamp the smartphones in 2016. The company will launch only four devices throughout 2016.
Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that two out of the four smartphones will be flagship devices and will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. Moreover, the report suggests that Sony will unveil two of its most coveted devices in June and October 2016.
