Spice Dream Uno vs Xiaomi Redmi 1S: Android One Smartphone to Challenge The Existing Budget Friendly Smartphone
Xiaomi has dominated the market for affordable smartphones for quite sometime now. The company produces devices that have powerful specs yet offer these handset at an affordable price.
Google recently announced several smartphones to run on Android One. These phones are intended to push the use of smartphones to developing countries. These phones will have a 4.5-inch display phones with 1GB of RAM, 5MP rear and 2MP front-facing cameras. These devices will be powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processors that will have dual SIM card slots and support for microSD and FM radios. Aside from Spice, Micromax and Karbonn will be selling smartphones that run on Android One.
Basically, we compared Xiaomi Redmi 1s to Spice Dream Uno. The Redmi 1s sports a solid 4.7-inch IPS LCD display with a 720 x 1,280 pixels of resolution with a pixel density of 312ppi. While the Dream Uno sports a 4.5-inch with a 480 x 854 pixels of resolution at 218ppi.
The Redmi 1S is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8228 Snapdragon with a Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU and an Adreno 305 GPU. It has 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB with the use of micro SD. The Redmi 1S uses an 8MP rear camera with an LED flash that can shoot up to 1,080p of video at 30fps. The front-facing camera is 1.6MP and it has a battery capacity of up to 2,000 mAh. As mentioned earlier, Dream Uno is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage that is expandable to 32GB via micro SD. It will sport a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing camera. It has a battery capacity of up to 1,700 mAh.
The Redmi has more powerful specs compared to Dream Uno. But, the Android One smartphone will feature stock Android that can be updated. It will be one of the first smartphones to get the Android L update when it is made available. Users will also be able to access new apps and service through software updates.
User will just have to decide on what smartphone to choose. If it is going to be the one that offers more powerful specs or the one that can provide more user experience via software updates.
