Spider-Verse Set To Conclude In ‘Spider-Man: Unlimited’
The end of the epic Spider-Verse storyline for “Spider-Man Unlimited” is near. Though the comic book storyline of the same name ended a few months ago, developer Gameloft has decided to let the “Spider-Man Unlimited” version go out with a bang, as a final Spider-Verse event was revealed and is playable right now.
As shown through the “Spider-Man Unlimited” Facebook page, the final Spider-Verse event will be a seven-day challenge that pits the various Spider-Men and Spider-Women on a desperate bid to get rid of Morlun and the Inheritors once and for all. Thankfully the arachnid heroes have an ally that rocked the comic world a few months ago, Spider-Ben, an alternate version of Peter Parker’s Uncle Ben who happens to have the same powers as his nephew.
Spider-Verse fans will be delighted to that Spider-Ben is, in fact an unlockable character. Once players complete the seven day event, they will be able to unlock the man who once stated that with great power must also come great responsibility.
In addition to Spider-Ben, Marvel has also announced that the fourth “Spider-Man Unlimited” community vote is also kicking off this week. Fans will be able to choose between Spider-Mech, Spider-Man 2211 or Captain Spider, with the winner becoming an unlockable character in a special event afterwards.
Captain Spider is Flash Thompson, famously known by comic book fans as one of Peter Parker’s bullies, from an alternate reality. He was bitten by a radioactive spider and gained the same incredible powers, however he also killed a man and is being pursued by the police.
Spider-Mech is an enhanced version of Spider-Man who came from a Galactic Alliance of Spider-Men. Spider-Man 2211 is a genius named Dr, Max Borne, who gave himself powers by building an enhanced suit that increased his various attributes and made him a force to be reckoned with.
Previous winners of the “Spider-Man Unlimited” community vote include Assassin Spider-Man, Woman Spider and Spider-Knight. Fans interested in any of the aforementioned Spider-Men should download the app now and vote for their preferred Spider-Man.
“Spider-Man Unlimited” is a free-to-play infinite runner featuring a ton of different variations on Spider-Man and Spider-Woman from the comic books published by Marvel. Other characters like Silk and Spider-Gwen have also become available through various updates, each one giving the game more Spider-Characters than most fans could probably handle. The game is available for iOS and Android devices.
