Spotify confirmed its partnership with Facebook and its non-availability in the land down under.

The music online platform provides the music service of Facebook. Spotify co-founder Daniel Ek made an appearance on the recent F8 conference of Facebook and made an off comment that Spotify caters "internationally". However, he did not clarify if the service will be available in other countries outside US and UK.

However, spokesperson of Spotify clarified Mr. Ek's statements and saying that the Spotify service is only available in seven countries in Europe and in the US.

Spotify said that they have no plans at the moment regarding the launching in Australia.

During the f8 event, Spotify announced their integration with the popular social networking site that allows users to listen to music through their Facebook accounts and to share it with friends.

Australians felt disappointed about this as the new music service seemed to be very popular overseas. However, it also shows that various streaming services are taking Australia more seriously.

The F8 conference announced other changes that will happen in Facebook including an overhaul on the profile page, the new timeline that shows the user's history and a couple of other changes.
