Square Enix reveals ‘Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue’
Just last week, a LinkedIn account hinted that a possible “Kingdom Hearts” prologue game is on the way. It was also teased last week that “Kingdom Hearts” will be in attendance at the Tokyo Games Show. All rumours proved to be true today as Square Enix announced several titles for the “Kingdom Hearts” series.
The company announced at Sony’s pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference that there will be a total of three “Kingdom Hearts” titles coming to the PlayStation 4, IGN reported. The games will be a part of a package called “Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue.”
The package will include “Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD,” which is a remake of a Nintendo 3DS game. It stars the series’ main protagonist, Sora as he battles an entire new enemy in the form of Dream Eaters. The other two titles include “Kingdom Hearts x Back Cover” and “Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage.”
The official website of “Kingdom Hearts 3,” the story of “Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep – A Fragmentary Passage,” occurs directly after the events of “Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep” for the PSP. It will portray the events that will set in motion “Kingdom Hearts 3.” The game will let players take control of Aqua from the PSP title.
“Kingdom Hearts x Back Cover” on the other hand, is a short video that highlights the mysterious story of the Foretellers. The movie is connected to an upcoming mobile title called “Kingdom Hearts Unchained X.” It will explain the beginning of the “Kingdom Hearts” series, as well as expand the player’s knowledge of the game’s universe and history.
Sony was tightlipped on the exact release date and pricing of the collection. The company, however, confirmed that “Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue” will be coming to the PlayStation 4 by 2016.
