‘Star Wars Battlefront’ dev shines light on new vehicles and Boba Fett character
“Star Wars Battlefront” will be taking fans into a wish fulfilment ride through the battles in its many different planets and environments. All of the action made this clear in the latest showcase of the game’s new survival mode on Tatooine.
It appears that this new look, courtesy of the Xbox Wire, showed two vehicle, the TIE Fighter and the X-Wing battle via the Fighter Squadron mode. According to the source, this new mode will be familiar to fans, as it puts rebels in the X-Wing and imperials in the TIE fighters, with the goal of shooting down enemies and attacking and defending respective transport ships.
Fighter Squadron will feature a 24-player multiplayer experience, where action is pretty much ensured thanks to the A.I.-controlled ships, weapons and other battle-related mechanics weaved into the mode. Apart from shooting, another interesting aspect of the mode is that kills can be creative, such as kamikaze moves to make the most out of a burning engine.
In the latest EA blog update for “Star Wars Battlefront, the publisher also revealed developer DICE’s take on what and who Boba Fett would be in the game. it appear that the developer went through a lot of thinking and brainstorming, given that there are a lot of opinions and views on what the villain should be like.
“As originally portrayed in the films, Boba Fett has a wealth of gadgets at his disposal but we only see him use a fraction of these in the films,” said DICE Senior Producer Jamie Keen over at the EA Star Wars blog. “So there was a lot to choose from before we wound up with the final loadout.”
In “Star Wars Battlefront,” Boba Fett will not be your regular villain. If anything, he will be a force to be reckoned with, thanks to his weapons and mobility via jetpacks. Some of the weapons that Boba Fettt has at his disposal include wrist launchers, rocket, Flame Blast attack, EE-3 Carbine Rifle and the jetpack.
According to DICE, Boba Fett is more fitted to players who prefer airborne and long-distance attacks. The combination of air abilities with the jetpack and his mostly shooter weapons allows Boba Fett go above level or out-of-range on his enemies while keeping himself at the advantage.
Of course, Boba Fett is far from being overpowered. His biggest weapon—the ability to fly to other places—will be hindered by a fuel mechanic. This means that Boba Fett’s flight times will be limited, so players will need to be cautious of when and how they use it.
EA has promised to deliver more information about the heroes and villains coming to “Star Wars Battlefront.” Whatever the case may be, tactics still play a big part of the “Star Wars Battlefront.” The game is slated to launch on Nov. 17 on the PS4, Xbox One and PC. Those who will be playing on the Xbox One can also avail of the EA Access membership, which allows players to enjoy the game five days before the actual release date.
