'Star Wars: Episode 8' theory: Caves, grottos and Luke Skywalker
A new theory about “Star Wars: Episode 8” states that there may be caves and grottos featured in the film, and they may have a connection to Luke Skywalker. The theory is based on previous reports about the producers scouting for locations in Mexico.
[Spoiler alert]
A new theory posted on the YouTube channel of Mike Zeroh suggests that we could see a cave or a grotto in the upcoming movie. The theory is based on a report by the Spanish website that claimed the producers visited some of the caves and Grottos in Mexico.
Some of the locations in Mexico have interesting natural characteristics, which could have been used to depict an alien planet in the film. According to Mike the cast and crew need not film scenes at these locations physically, and the look of the caves and grottos can be recreated at Pinewood Studios or another location, just as they recreated the Beehive huts of Skellig Michael.
Producer Kathleen Kennedy had previously confirmed that some of the filming of “Star Wars: Episode 8” and the first spin-off movie “Rogue One” would be filmed on the outskirts of Mexico, Star Wars News Net reported. Most of the filming of the film would take place in Pinewood Studios, and the locations in Mexico were supposed to be used for exterior shots.
Irrespective of where the scenes of the caves and grottos were filmed, Mike believes that this would be an excellent place for Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) to lightup his green lightsaber.
This scene could be the ideal location to unveil the green lightsaber for the first time since the film “Return of the Jedi.” Rey’s (Daisy Ridley) reaction to seeing the different coloured Jedi weapon could also reflect the emotions of the viewers, who watched the original trilogy as kids. Will Luke unveil his weapon in a cave in “Star Wars: Episode 8”?
