The parentage of Rey’s parents has always been an intriguing discussion when it comes to “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Whether she is the daughter of Han Solo or Luke Skywalker remains uncertain. However, Daisy Ridley may have accidentally revealed who her character’s father is in the film.

Daisy Ridley and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy were in Japan recently to share some production details about “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” In one interview, Ridley reportedly gave a clue to the identity of Rey’s father. From the Star Wars Report podcast, the actress could be heard declining at first to reveal much about her character’s parentage.

“I’m not sure how much I can say,” she started. “I guess because I’ve said that I’m solitary, and that’s how I begin, that is probably a big clue as to what it is,” Ridley added.

According to Making Star Wars, it was during her second statement that Kathleen Kennedy nervously chuckled. Apparently, her reaction was supposedly natural considering Daisy Ridley had hinted of Han Solo being Rey’s father in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” It doesn’t take a genius to put together that ‘solitary’ and ‘Solo’ say a lot,” writer Jason Ward explained.

However, a commentator named Christophe Thiry also noted how Luke Skywalker was also solitary when he was first introduced in the “Star Wars” saga. So Daisy Ridley’s statements could supposedly also hint to the Jedi Master being Rey’s father.

There have been numerous reports of Rey being Han Solo and Princess Leia’s daughter. A source who claimed to have been an extra in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” revealed one particular hideout scene where Rey, Han and Leia were all together. According to Star Wars Underworld, this alone hints Rey being Leia and Han’s offspring.

Making Star Wars had previously also gathered some evidence to prove that Rey is Han Solo and Princess Leia’s daughter. One is a concept art showing Daisy Ridley as Rey holding a familiar-looking weapon. This weapon is the same DL-44 blaster that Harrison Ford as Han Solo is seen holding in a flashback photo. The gun was reportedly handed to Rey in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” by Han himself while they were inside the Millennium Falcon.
