A new video and images from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” show the villain Kylo Ren without his mask. There are also images of some of the other cast members on the production set. Meanwhile, J.J. Abrams talked about featuring a dead Jar Jar Binks in the movie. [Spoiler alert]
“Star Wars” fans have for long speculated that the tall and lean villain Kylo Ren is a character played by Adam Driver in the movie. This video posted on the YouTube channel of Vanity Fair confirms the fans’ guess and reveals the villain without his mask for the first time.
Adam Driver can be seen wearing the black costume of Kylo Ren without the mask in the video at what appears to be a base in a snowy planet. There is also a scene of Stormtroopers that may have been shot at the same location.
Some of the other actors seen in the video are Daisy Ridley and John Boyega in what appears to be the iconic starship Millennium Falcon. The two young cast members can be seen taking pictures with Harrison Ford and Peter Mayhew in his Chewbacca costume later in the video.
John Boyega plays the role of Finn in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Finn appeared in a Stormtrooper costume in the trailers of the movie. The video also includes photographs of Rey, played by Daisy Ridley, riding a speeder. Rey riding her speeder was one of the scenes shown in the first trailer of the movie. The video also includes behind the scenes footage of Lupita Nyong’o using motion capture technology for her character in the movie.
One character that was supposed to appear in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is Jar Jar Binnks, according to J.J. Abrams. The director spoke to VanityFair about his plans to feature the character in the movie.
Jar Jar Binks is one of the major characters in the prequel movies of the franchise. Some of the fans are not very fond of the bumbling character. Confirming the feelings of some of the fans towards the character, J.J. Abrams said that he has an idea about putting the bones of a dead Jar Jar in the desert in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” “I’m serious! Only three people will notice, but they’ll love it,” the director said.
