'Star Wars: The Force Awakens': Mark Hamill Shares Three Decades Old Photos With Yoda And Sitting In The Emperor’s Chair
Mark Hamill, who reprises his role as Luke Skywalker in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” has shared three decades old photos of his family on the sets of the 1983 movie from the franchise. He is one of the main actors who hasn’t been seen in the two trailers of the upcoming movie.
Luke Skywalker was the protagonist in the first three “Star Wars” movies that told the story of how a small group of rebels challenged the might of the Empire. Mark Hamill shared some photos of his family visiting the sets of the movie “Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi” on the official “Star Wars” website. The three decades old photos show the actor with his wife Marilou and son Nathan.
The actor is seen wearing his black costume of Luke Skywalker in most of the photos. His son, however, appears to be supporting the dark side of the Force. One of the photos of Mark Hamill’s son shows him trying to use the “Force lightning” powers of a Sith Lord and another photo shows him claiming the chair of the Emperor. There are also images of the family with the Yoda puppet that was used in the movie.
Mark Hamill also couldn’t resist sitting on the chair of the Emperor. The throne room set is where some of the final scenes of the 1983 movie where filmed. The movie led to the fulfillment of a prophecy that the prequel movies also talked about and resulted in Luke Skywalker emerging as the only known Jedi in the galaxy.
The official images and trailers of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” do not reveal what the new look of Luke Skywalker will be. The second trailer of the movie showed a hooded figure kneeling next to R2-D2 that may be Mark Hamill’s character.
The second trailer of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” hinted at the strong connection of the Force and the Skywalker family. It is still unclear if the new hero of the movie will be Luke’s child or the child of Han Solo and Leia. There is also a brief scene of the lightsaber that may have been used by both Anakin and Luke in the previous movies.
