'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' The Possible Return Of A Familiar Admiral
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” may mark the return of a character who appeared as an admiral in the original trilogy, according to a new report. The names of some of the other characters fighting for the rebels in the movie have also been revealed in the report. [Warning: Spoilers Alert]
Fans of the “Star Wars” movies may remember a fish like character called Admiral Ackbar who briefed the pilots before the assault on the second Death Star. According to a report by MakingStarWars, the upcoming movie may feature Ackbar or a character of the same species.
The report identifies the character only as Rebel Admiral, as it has still not been confirmed that the character is in fact Ackbar. There is scepticism about the character being Ackbar, as his return in the same position as the last movie will mean that the character has not been promoted for over three decades.
Some of the other Rebel Alliance members in the movie named in the report are Brance, Major Ematt, Captain Trilla and Gorwyn the Pilot. The producers of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” have still not confirmed if the hero faction in the movie will be called the Rebel Alliance or the New Galactic Republic.
After the events of “Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi,” Luke Skywalker supposedly withdrew from the universe and this led to the Empire gaining momentum in the war. Fans of the franchise who have watched the original trilogy should note that although the Emperor was defeated, an entire legion of the best soldiers of the Empire did not take part in the final battle and the remnant forces across the galaxy still remained intact towards the end of the movie.
Fans of the franchise have already been introduced to some of the new characters in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” in the first official teaser trailer. The fans also got to see a hooded figure carrying a new red lightsaber in the trailer. The hooded figure appears when the voiceover by Andy Serkis talks about the dark side of the Force in the trailer.
