Steam winter sale remains a mystery while other holiday sales are offering huge discounts
One of the online payment partners for Steam has inadvertently revealed the Steam’s winter sales dates. Through a promotional image released by PayPal, it is expected that Steam’s highly-anticipated winter sales is coming on Dec. 22.
While Steam has not yet released a statement regarding its winter sale, Polygon suggested that PayPal revealed the date via a banner ad on their website. The report also speculated that if Valve comes up with the model similar to November sale, fans can expect daily announcement for new games at discounted price for a week.
There are chances that Valve can introduce the Steam controller at a discount. The report suggests that the promotional image on PayPal’s website tells "The Steam Winter Sale starts Dec. 22” with a clear statement.
Ahead of the Steam Winter sale, three retailers have jumped into the holiday sales market early with alluring offers and discounts on selected titles. According to Siliconera, Green Man Gaming is offering up to 75 percent discount on more than 100 PC games. These deals include discount on games like “Cities: Skylines,” “Pillars of Eternity Hero Edition” and “Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.”
Gamers may never forget GameStop when it comes to buying digital games. According to the sources, the store is not running a PC winter sale yet, but the retailer has launched many remarkable deals over the weekend. The store has lowered down the prices of titles such as “Skyrim Legendary” and “Grand Theft Auto V.”
The same report suggested that Origin’s Holiday Sale which started on Friday last week will run through Dec. 27th, is offering huge discount on “Dragon Age Inquisition,“ “The Sims 4,” and “Star Wars: Battlefront.”
With regards to the winter sale, Steam is silent on this but the sale usually lasts for a week or around the New Year’s Eve. In a related news, recently Valve has tighten the security of its Steam accounts due to hijacking attempts from hackers.
