Episode 10 in the season 2 of “The Strain” saw Eldritch Palmer (Jonathan Hyde) making a deal with The Master in exchange for his girlfriend Coco Marshand’s life (Lizzie Brocheré). Dutch is also brought to Eichorst possibly to be tortured before becoming his meal.

Episode 10 titled “The Assassin,” saw Dutch (Ruta Gedmintas) and Eph imprisoned after their attempt to kill Palmer backfired and caused Coco’s life instead. Palmer, hours after telling Coco he loves her, is in emotional turmoil at the thought of losing his one and only love. So he convinces Eichorst (Richard Sammel) to tell The Master to save her life or else he will make sure everything that he’s been working for “will all fall to pieces.”

Eichorst says he will pass on the message but tells Palmer that matters of the heart is not a high priority for The Master. However, The Master arrives to Palmer’s office and rescues Coco. Palmer tells Coco he will tell her everything about The Master.

Back in jail Dutch is taken away from her cell and Eph is left to worry where the police had taken her. Palmer arrives to the surprise of Eph, who thought he’d killed him for sure. Palmer expresses his anger at Eph for hurting Coco and questions why he continues to resist being on their side. Eph tries to talk some sense into Palmer and tells him of The Master’s greed, which had Palmer thinking if The Master would really be sharing his kingdom with him.

Meanwhile Setrakian (David Bradley), Norah (Mia Maestro) and Fet (Kevin Durand) are on a mission to find the Occido Lumen. They go from bookstore to bookstore in search for the book. After hearing from the radio of Eph and Dutch’s arrest, Norah and Fet go their separate ways to rescue them leaving Setrakian to continue with his search. Setrakian finally gets hold of the book only to lose it after someone struck him from behind on his head and he loses consciousness.

Not soon after Palmer left Eph strigois attack the police living Eph still locked inside his cell in safety. Luckily, Fet and Norah came just in time to save him from the strigois.

Episode 10 ended with Dutch chained inside the “White Room” being tortured by Eichorst. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gedmintas teases whether her character will survive the intense torture.

“The next episode is one where you get to see Dutch's limits pushed to the max. It shows just how far people are willing to go to help and to survive. It’s complete high stakes; everything is to the max and brutal,” she said.

Gedmintas also talked about the intensity of her “White Room” scene that she had bruises after. It reportedly took around 2 hours and a total of three weeks for it to be filmed.
