With only four episodes left until the season 2 finale of “The Strain,” Setrakian, played by David Bradley, is anxious to find the Occido Lumen. Episode 11 of the FX series may finally lead him closer to finding the book that holds the answers to killing The Master.

According to TV Guide, episode 11 in season 2 of “The Strain” titled “Dead End” will put Setrakian in a familiar situation. During his search for the Ocido Lumen the vampire hunter will encounter a familiar face. The events in the previous episodes somehow teases that this familiar face is someone Setrakian met during his youth in Austria.

In episode 8 titled “Intruders,” Setrakian confronts Cardinal McNamara over the whereabouts of the Occido Lumen only to learn that he is not the only one after the book. McNamara has put it on a bidding war between him and Eldritch Palmer, played by Jonathan Hyde. Setrakian leaves and tells Fet, played by Kevin Durand, that they will return in the evening to retrieve the book themselves. However, they were too late as Eichorst, played by Richard Sammel, has decided to pay the cardinal a visit to question him about the whereabouts of the Occido Lumen.

When the cardinal refused, Eichorst infects him and leaves the cardinal battling for his life. Setrakian and Fet were too late in saving the cardinal but just in time to learn that the Occido Lumen is with Rudyard Fonescu, the only survivor in the 1966 vampire massacre in the Austrian nunnery. Setrakian beheads the cardinal thereafter to prevent The Master from reading his mind and learning of the Occido Lumen’s location himself.

A flashback into the 1966 massacre in episode 4 in season 2 of “The Strain” titled “The Silver Ange” shows a little boy being the only survivor. A young Setrakian and a young sickly Palmer on his wheelchair pay the Austrian nunnery a visit after Setrakian learns the Occido Lumen is with them. However, the boy, now identified as Rudyard Fonesco, tells them that the Mother Superior has burned the book, believing it was evil.

According to IGN, the hunt for the Occido Lumen seems to be the main focus in season 2 of “The Strain.” Setrakian continues to search for the mythical book in his quest to kill The Master, whom Palmer and Eichorst only wish to keep safe.
