Episode 2 of Season 2 of “The Strain” promises to bring more fright and excitement as Eph and Nora attempt to find a cure for the unknown disease causing people to turn into vampires. The upcoming series episode will also tease the budding romance between Dutch and Vasiliy.

The premiere episode of Season 2 of “The Strain” saw Eph (Corey Stoll) and Nora (Mia Maestro) decide to bring home with them an infected couple against the better judgement of Abraham (David Bradley) and Vasiliy (Kevin Durand),who wants nothing more than to see them dead. Nora and Eph stops Vasiliy from putting a bullet to the couple’s heads.

According to TV Guide , Episode 2 entitled “By Any Means” will show Eph and Nora’s true intentions in keeping the infected couple. Apparently, they have plans of using them as guinea pigs in their search to find a cure. The new episode will show the two doctors “perform experiments on their new patients.”

In the premiere episode of Season 2 of “The Strain,” Eph and Nora have a discussion on how they could find a vaccine to stop the infection from spreading and consequently develop a cure for the disease. Eph suggests finding a live person to make creating the vaccine “a lot easier.” Nora on the other hand plans to find out how the infected can generate new organs so quickly, that way it would be easier for them to find a cure.

Meanwhile, Episode 2 of the new season will also include budding romance between Vasiliy Vet and Dutch (Ruta Gedmintas). “By Any Means,” which will air on Sunday, July 19, will show them “grow closer on a mission to make sure neighborhood buildings are clear” of any vampires.

Ruta Gedmintas, in an interview with Collider , declined to reveal any details about her character’s relationship with Vasiliy. Instead she said, “The relationship is explored but that’s about all I can say.”

Episode 1 of Season 2 of “The Strain” ended with Kelly (Natalie Brown), Eph’s ex-wife, having been especially chosen to lead the blind students who have turned into vampires. According to TV Guide, “By Any Means” will show Kelly begin her search for her son Zach (Max Charles).
