‘Stressed’ Zayn Malik Exits One Direction Tour: Sister Asks For Prayers, Heartbroken Manila Fans Send Love And Support
Zayn Malik exits One Direction tour because of stress, presumably linked to the cheating rumours he had to fight for the past few days. The news left his Manila and Jakarta fans heartbroken.
On Thursday, 1D’s publicist announced that Zayn would not be joining the rest of his bandmates in completing the band’s tour because of stress and would just go back to the UK to recuperate. The rest of the band will complete the Manila and Jakarta leg of their “On the Road Again” tour with one man down.
The announcement came after Zayn took to his Twitter account to slam back rumours that he and his fiancée Perrie Edwards of the band Little Mix are having relationship problems. For the past few days, rumours of him cheating on Perrie quickly spread, after pictures of him in Thailand spending time with a pretty blonde emerged.
Zayn’s sister, Safaa, had already come to his rescue through a lengthy message on her Instagram. “People need to realize my brother is human too, stop hating him because he hasn't done anything to anybody, except for defending himself because of what people heard of what he did, but it isn't true,” the post reads. His sister added that she could not stand seeing Zayn so down and helpless. She also wants Zayn’s fans to pray for him. “Please pray for my brother, please help him because I know he will be okay; please stop sending him hate and getting on him for what he has did [sic]” Waliyha wrote.
According to Rappler, a Philippine-based news publication site, Filipino fans of the band were majorly disappointed with the news but found the time to send their support and love to the band memeber. Many aired their worries for Zayn’s health and their sadness for not having the chance to catch Zayn perform."Manila and Jakarta," "#HaveAGoodRestZayn" and "PhilippinesWantsZayn," quickly trended on Twitter on Friday. Some fans sweetly posted their messages directed at Zayn, wishing him to feel better soon and to not give up despite his current problems. Some claimed they felt like crying over the news.
Even without Zayn, the rest of the band members, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan, are expected to give their Filipino fans a show that they would never forget. The concert will be held at the Mall of Asia Open Concert Grounds on March 21 and 22.
