“Suicide Squad” may have already found another actor to add to its long list of characters, if the recent reports are to be believed. Ed Harris has been rumoured to play the role of main villain Rick Flagg Sr.

Ed Harris recently revealed during an interview with Screenrant that Joel Kinnaman, who plays the role of Rick Flagg in “Suicide Squad,” has approached him about the film. When asked whether he was approached for the role of Rick Flagg Sr. in David Ayer’s film, the actor denied knowing any knowledge about the part. However, he did confirm that Kinnaman had talked to him about something that's supposedly needed to be done for the film. “Joel mentioned that there was something he wanted me to look at, or think about doing, but I don’t know if that was it or not,” he said.

While Ed Harris’ involvement in “Suicide Squad” still remains unconfirmed, another source has revealed that the actor is also rumoured for another role in the film. Harris, who stars in “Run All Night” with Joel Kinnaman, will reportedly be playing as Antiphon. Writer Umberto Gonzalez revealed on his Instagram page that Antiphon is actually the main villain in the movie.

Gonzalez goes on to highlight that Antiphon is the “head bad guy” in “Suicide Squad” and leader of a special ops team which comprises of a group of mercenaries. He says this team, called the Onslaught, will be “up against #DEADSHOT & the rest of the Suicide Squad.” “Onslaught are hunting super heroes & villains for their own agenda,” he adds.

Rick Flagg Sr. was previously speculated as the main antagonist in “Suicide Squad” with Ed Harris attached for the role, as noted by Instagram user vishadreddy’s response to Gonzalez’s post. Likewise, the user supposed that perhaps changes were made to the script to have Antiphon as the main villain instead.

It’s interesting to note that around the same time Gonzalez shared his post a couple of days ago, David Ayer also announced on his Twitter page that he’s making revisions to the movie’s script. The director says he is “working on the script again” since he only wants “the best and smoothest draft possible for his “Suicide Squad” film.

David Ayer only has a few weeks left to finalise the draft since per The Hollywood Reporter, “Suicide Squad” will start shooting in mid-April. Filming will reportedly take place at the Pinewood Studios set in Toronto, Canada until September.
