‘Suicide Squad': First Look At Will Smith As Floyd Lawton A.K.A. Deadshot

Photos of Will Smith while on the set of “Suicide Squad” have been released online. Some shots of the actor show him dressed as Floyd Lawton while another is believed to reveal Smith dressed in his Deadshot costume.

Comicbookmovie has shared some photos of Will Smith in Toronto, Canada, while filming for his role as Deadshot in “Suicide Squad.” In the first photo, the actor was spotted wearing a civilian outfit and not as his comicbook costume as the squad’s iconic marksman.

According to the site, this particular scene in the movie may have been filmed prior to Floyd Lawton becoming an assassin since he still has both eyes. Likewise, in another photo it also shows him with a little girl, believed to be his on-screen daughter Zoe Lawton, while both were out for some holiday shopping.

Then another photo released by Comicbookresources finally revealed Deadshot in full costume. It’s uncertain if it was Will Smith, or probably a stunt man, wearing the costume as the person’s face is not visible through the dark helmet. The shot was supposedly taken on the same day when Will Smith was spotted on the set of “Suicide Squad” carrying shopping bags.

However, the supposed Deadshot costume reportedly doesn’t resemble any of the villain’s looks in the comics. For starters, the armour doesn’t have Deadshot’s trademark eyepiece. The photo of the man, believed to be Deadshot leaning casually against wall, could be of another DC character. According to Comicbookresources, the armour and its colour scheme resembles that of a Checkmate character costume. In the comics the group also had some connections to the Suicide Squad.

“Suicide Squad” scoopster Umberto Gonzalez once revealed on his Instagram post, that Will Smith as Deadshot will wear the “traditional face mask with the target eye.” However, slight modifications were reportedly done on the mask in order to show the actor’s lower face. Additionally, the character’s trademark target eye is believed to be dark red in colour with a mixture of black. Gonzalez said Deadshot’s costume also consists of a “molded bullet proof vest.” Gonzalez also shared a fan-made photo showing how Will Smith looks like in his new Deadshot costume.

As for weapons, Gonzalez said Will Smith will be mostly using a sniper rifle in "Suicide Squad." However, the actor will reportedly also have guns strapped to his wrists to pay homage to Deadshot’s weapons in the comics.
