The CW network released on Tuesday, November 26, the "Supernatural" Season 9 promo video for the upcoming mid-season finale in Episode 9 titled "Holy Terror," according to the Examiner report. The battle between the angels begin in the new episode as the heavenly creatures that fell down to Earth capture and torture Castiel (Misha Collins) and a familiar and important character returns.

The synopsis on the upcoming intense "Holy Terror" episode in the Cartermatt.com report reads: "After a massive angel slaughter occurs, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) arrive at the scene to investigate and are surprised to run into Castiel (Misha Collins). While investigating, Castiel is captured and tortured. Meanwhile, Dean questions Ezekiel's demands and wonders if it might be time to tell Sam the truth."

The angel-turned-human Castiel will not be the only character reappearing in Episode 9. Metatron (Curtis Armstrong), who kicked out all of the angels from heaven, returns as shown in CW's released promotional photos for the mid-season finale episode in the Enstars report.

Executive producer Robert Singer stated in an interview with Give Me My Remote TV that Metatron begins to feel a certain kind of emptiness in heaven. "I can tell you that while he exacted his revenge, he's finding it a little lonely up there. There are non-angels up there, there are all the souls that have risen to heaven, and he doesn't really have anybody up there to keep the electricity on," Mr Singer teased.

In the promo video, it also shows Dean approaching and calling out to Sam but Zeke, who took over the younger Winchester, stopped Dean and told him "I did what I had to." It sounded trouble for the Winchester boys given that the promo photos show Zeke in Sam's body having a conversation about something important with Metatron.

Furthermore, even though Crowley (Mark Sheppard) declared that the spell Metatron used to cast out the angels cannot be reversed, Kevin Tran (Osric Chau) will still continue to work hard in translating the angel tablet with the hopes of finding the way to put the fallen angels back in heaven. "Supernatural" Season 9, Episode 9 "Holy Terror" is scheduled to air on Tuesday night, December 3, at 8 p.m. CT on the CW network.
