Preorders for Microsoft's Surface Book are now back up and running. Interested users can now order again but the units are expected to have lengthy ship times.

Surface Book is actually a laptop running on Windows 10 that can easily be converted into a tablet after removing its detachable keyboard. The device has been slated for an October 26 release but the preorder period started October 7.

Now, however, the Redmond-based company's online store is displaying the message, "Email me when available”, which indicates that all Surface Books for preorder have sold out, according to CNET.

Fortunately for those interested in getting their own Surface Book, the hybrid laplet device is once again available on the website. It must be noted the laplet has been attached to relatively lengthy ship times.

Three of the Surface Book models on the website have ship times of five to six weeks. The other two models have got ship times of seven to eight weeks.

In addition to preordering the devices via Microsoft's online store, consumers can also physically try out the device at an official Microsoft retail store. They can preorder their devices there, as well. Still, the waiting time to get one will be lengthy.

"We have seen strong demand for Surface Book and have sold out of preorder supply for October 26 availability”, said Microsoft's spokesperson. "We will have limited quantities of Surface Book available in store on October 26”.

It would seem the Surface Book is Microsoft’s attempt at making waves, as well as shaking-up the computer industry. Plus, Microsoft also wants to show other PC makers that a laptop -- or, in this case, a laplet hybrid -- can be created to take full advantage of Windows 10.
