The upcoming Apple iPad pro, also referred as iPad Plus, has been in news for quite some time now with umpteen leaks specific to the device features. However, now, 3D renders of the tablet have apparently surfaced. Touted as the Surface Pro 4 competitor, the iPad Pro will reportedly house four speakers in the device.

Going by the leaked 3D iPad Pro images ferreted out by HDBlog, the outer shell reportedly shows four cut outs specific to the tablet's speakers. While two of the speakers are placed at the top of the tablet, the rest of the speakers are located at the tail-end. Notably, these 3D renders corroborate the earlier leak showcasing the casing of the tablet with place holders for four speakers, says Phone Arena.

In addition to the camera cut outs, the images also showcase the place holders for the camera unit, volume rocker, power button and an extra microphone. Apparently, this microphone will be located on the side, right next to the primary camera. As far as the key Apple iPad Pro specifications go, the tablet will apparently feature a killer 12.9-inch display. Under the hood, the device will reportedly be powered by the Apple A8X/A9 chip and will be backed by 2 GB of RAM configuration.

Furthermore, the now-famous and widely-used Touch ID Fingerprint scanner will reportedly be included in the iPad Pro. And if reports are true, a killer stylus will also be part of the tablet. Speaking of the iPad Pro release date, Phone Arena says the expected time frame is June and the tablet is believed to be unveiled at the WWDC event.

From the marketing perspective, Apple is reportedly hoping to take the well-received 2-in-1 12-inch Microsoft Surface Pro 3/Pro 4 with the upcoming bigger display clad tablet. This report is also fuelled by the fact that the large displays in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have struck a chord with Apple fans and users and therefore, Apple would like to take the customer expectations forward, notes Phone Arena. Interested readers can check out the renders from the Phone Arena link mentioned above. Nonetheless, Apple has not confirmed the iPad Pro release date or specifications yet.

It is worth noting that, Microsoft has recently reduced the price of the Surface Pro 3 by $100, indicating that the Surface Pro 4 is in fact on its way, writes Air Herald. Having said that, out of the two tablets i.e. Surface Pro 4 and iPad Pro, which device do you think will be released earlier? Feel free to leave a comment.
