Sydney Homeowner Stabs to Death Robber Armed With Stun Gun
A 54-year-old homeowner in Sydney stabbed on death on Wednesday afternoon a 30-year-old intruder armed with a stun gun.
The would-be-robber allegedly entered a house on Glassop Street, Yagoona at about 3:15 p.m. The owner was in the rear shed and was about to return to his house when he was threatened by the intruder, whom reports said, was from Canley Vale.
The homeowner stabbed the intruder in the arm and chest during the altercation, but the latter managed to escape by fleeing from the house and boarding a red car driven by another man. The Canley Vale man, who alighted from the red Mitsubishi Lancer at McArthur Street in Fairfield East, was subsequently brought to the Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition for surgery, but he died 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The homeowner showed up at the Bankstown police station, but he has not been interviewed by authorities. He is reported to own several firearms in his Yagoona residence.
Sydney has been hit recently by petty robbery incidents involving male teenagers who used Tasers as their weapon to commit the crime. Several such incidents were reported last week.
