"The Hunger Games" has signed on a few big names in Hollywood for the lead roles in the movie and by the looks of it even the films' official soundtrack has a few big personalities in the music industry. Country crooner, Taylor Swift, may have debuted "Safe & Sound" as the films' official soundtrack but the singer has her "Eyes Open" for more.

While "Safe & Sound" debuts a sadder, slower and melancholic beat that revolves around loss and death, "Eyes Open" is the complete opposite with strong drums and heavily accented electric guitars resounding in the background. In an interview with Yahoo, Taylor further explains the difference between the two songs.

""Eyes Open" and "Safe & Sound" are two songs that I wanted to represent different relationships in the story," explains Swift.

"To me, "Safe & Sound" represents the empathy and compassion Katniss feels for Rue, Peeta, and Prim in different parts of the book. "Eyes Open" is more of a depiction of Katniss's relationship with the Capitol. She knows she can't trust anyone in the government, and that's why I wanted the song to feel more frantic-like the sound of being hunted or chased."

"Eyes open" depicts a stronger feel of freedom and power which greatly embodies the character in Suzanne Collins post-apocalyptic novel, Katniss Everdeen.

While a few haters may question Taylor Swift's ability to create songs, with two songs in the official soundtrack, the 22-year old proves enough that she is worthy and capable.

"One of the reasons I wanted to be a part of this soundtrack is that the people in charge of putting this movie together are obsessed with making the music match the tone of the movie and the emotions expressed in the book."

"They are in love with the characters and have thought about every detail that has gone into this movie. When I first met with the people from Lionsgate and T Bone, they said, "We're trying to make music that reflects what Appalachian music will sound like in 300 years." That authenticity was why I wanted to write music for this soundtrack," says Swift.

Lionsgate and T Bone have made the perfect choice in Taylor Swift. For a few fans who still haven't heard "Eyes Open", listen to the soundtrack below.
