Only weeks have passed but Taylor Swift's single, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" manages to hit the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Talk about being the number one hit maker along the lines of today's singers, Justin Bieber and One Direction.

"We are Never Ever Getting Back Together" is now on its second week as number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Swift's song has even managed to snag the number one spot on the Hot Digital Songs Chart. Apart from hitting number one spot, the song has over 307,000 downloads in a study done by Nielsen SoundScan. It's around a 51% slide since the song debut last week with sales of 623,000.

During the songs' digital availability, the song has sold over 930,000 downloads. To think that Swift's official album, "Red", comes out in October 22. Swift will definitely be making a lot of money when the album does come out.

As for the official music video of "Never Ever", it had made quite the impression on fans. With brightly colored outfits to constantly changing sceneries, the music video for "Never Ever" is as perky as the song.

"I wanted the video to look as quirky as the song sounds, so the apartment is covered in knitting and there's random woodland creatures popping up," explained Swift in an interview with MTV.

"We did it all in one take, one shot, with one camera; there's no editing. All the costume changes and scenery changes that you see are done live, with the camera moving around following us; it was like a performance," added Taylor.

Country crooner, Swift is aiming for the exact same performance for her stint on the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards 2012. The Awards show will air live at the Staples Center at Los Angeles by Thursday, September 6. VMA's start at 8pm so for fans wanting to see Swift live performing "Never Ever", better make an early start.

Joining Swift at the VMA performances are British boy band, One Direction and The Wanted. The VMAs are one event not to be missed. Head on to their official site to start voting for nominated singers.
