Scott and his friends will not only deal with the villains called the Dread Doctors in “Teen Wolf” Season 5 but also with their personal relationships. Series creator Jeff Davis teased in an interview that the characters’ relationships will begin to fall apart in the upcoming episodes of “Teen Wolf” Season 5.

Spoiler Alert: This feature contains major spoilers on the MTV series “Teen Wolf” Season 5.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, “Teen Wolf” series creator Jeff Davis shared that the Scott-Kira relationship as well as the Stiles-Malia relationship will fall apart in the upcoming episodes of the new season. Scott, played by Tyler Posey, noticed that his girlfriend Kira, played by Arden Cho, has been acting strange since she almost killed a Chimera creature named Lucas in “Teen Wolf” Season 5, episode 4 titled “Condition Terminal.”

Davis teased that Kira will start to distance herself from Scott and the rest of the pack following her electric reaction inside Eichen House in episode 5 titled “A Novel Approach.” Kira thinks that she is doing more harm than good to the people around her.

“This season is all about power going haywire for Kira,” Davis shared. Davis further added that the rise in Kira’s power and her inability to control it will drive the Scott-Kira relationship apart.

As for the Stiles-Malia relationship, Davis revealed that Stiles, played by Dylan O’Brien, will be the one to cause his relationship with Malia, played by Shelley Hennig, to crumble. Stiles accidentally killed Donovan, played by Ashton Moio, in self-defense in the beginning of “Teen Wolf” Season 5, episode 5.

Davis explained that Stiles’ guilt will weigh heavily on the teenage boy in the upcoming episodes of the show. “It will begin to push him and Malia apart. There will be too many secrets between them, and it's going to provide for a lot of conflict,” Davis revealed.

With Malia, the were-coyote will most likely be absorbed in finding out the true identity of the Desert Wolf after remembering a detail during the car accident when she was a little girl. Malia revealed to Theo, played by Cody Christian, that the Desert Wolf was the person accountable for the car accident that killed her adoptive mother and sister.

“Teen Wolf” Season 5 will return with episode 6 titled “Required Reading” on Monday night, July 27. The new episode will air at 10/9c on MTV.
